Okay So… I went to this movie last night already convinced I’d love it, and I did. It is the type of film everyone needs to see at the end of each Arrondissement I wanted to applaud! While not every performance was stellar you can’t be disappointed, And no matter how jaded or biased you are toward love you are sure to come away smiling. Check it out then make some crepes. Paris…dans l’attente de visiter.
Yep another short post about yet another movie. I saw this film last week and I’ve been trying to decide if I liked it or not. What I have concluded is that it was just okay, really depressing, and worth your time. A mixed review yes. The film tells the story of Edie Sedgwick ultimately ending in with her death caused by a barbiturate overdose. As you can imagine the film is a real downer caused by watching this unfold. Depressing yet worth your time—especially if you’ve ever watched one of Andy Warhol’s films. And in the least you’ll come out learning a lot about her. If you don’t plan on watching the film at least visit the wikipedia page, there you can see the same dim details about her life and you won’t have to spend 10 bucks.
With movies being on the forefront of my mind I felt like now would be a good opportunity to write down films that I currently think are the absolute best. (You may disagree but you’d be wrong to) My list however is not very comprehensive and was quickly penned, so expect it to change, as I watch new movies and review old ones.
Well it happened An Inconvenient Truth won “Best Documentary” film, can information be presented in a less interesting way!? Boo to the Oscars for choosing such a “film” and I use the term very loosely. What good is saving the planet if our documentary films have come to this.
Well I have another movie to recommend. This film is absolutely amazing both visually and in the quality of story telling. Although I will warn you — Watching this film was like watching a nightmare, but it was a really really good nightmare. This film is now right below Eternal Sunshine on my all-time favorite list.
Well Sundance almost came and went without me being a part of it, but Friday night I came in the possession of some free tickets so I went and I really quite enjoyed the film Eagle Vs Shark. I fell in love Lily the main character during the opening scene and was routing for her throughout the entire film. The film seems to come as a Kiwi answer to MTV’s hit Napoleon Dynamite and shows a love story on the edges of popular culture. The dialog is quite interesting and has some real likable characters. though the stop motion apple story felt a bit contrived and lacked refinement making Eagles Vs. Shark an independent film for a reason.
I recommend this film if you are or have been considered a geek, worked at a fast-food establishment, are an orphan, like sharks, mortal combat, human hamster wheels, num-chucks, horses.
I don’t recommend this film if you where ever cool, liked incubus, know any football trivia, or think all you can eat brazilian food is a good idea.
