This last weekend I had the opportunity to join a few friends on a trip to Escalante. the trip was amazing and aside from being really sore and tired this trip goes down as one of the great ones.

What this picture can’t tell you is how tough we actually are, this canyon was 37 miles from the car, filled with snakes spiders & venomous birds, keeper pot holes, loose chock stones, falling trees, and 1,000 other things that were no big deal for us.

No More Epics!

No More Epics
Well the weekend is over and I didn’t catch up at all on the things I had wanted to, instead I found my creating another epic and spending the night at 9,000ft 4 hours from food, water, or a warm bed. This three day adventure began friday night a few hours behind schedule, those few hours would comeback to haunt me and my friend scott saturday evening.

The London Spire

This unusually large chunk of rock sits mysteriously and quietly in the norther Wasatch range between Ogden and Brigham City and receives very little attention. But on that rock are some of the most impressive Alpine Style rock climbs in utah. I’ve been eyeing one particular route now for several years—The Southwest Ridge. When Scott called me at the beginning of the week I said sure this will be great I needed to get out and climb more and I’d be knocking a climb off my tick list, but what I had seemed to forget was that I really hadn’t climbed in 2 years and I certainly hadn’t done anything on this large of scale, my usual form of exercise is that of the spectator or Extreme Graphic Designer which means sometime I change the mouse to the left side of the keyboard. So needless to say I wasn’t ready for everything that that mountain dished out. It was fun, but I need a weekend now. See the epic pics here.

This post has me remembering that I needed to finish writing about another epic my train journey from SLC»SFO»SLC, you can see my pics from that journey here .
