Though hollywood and popular culture has tried its best to convince me that spider bites can have positive effects on the average person my experience with them has proved other wise.
Last night around 1:30 my right arm began to itch and ache. upon close examination I noticed a small raised welt mid way between my elbow and shoulder. As one who has had experience with small biting insects, some might describe me as paranoid, I began to run through a list of likely culprits.
At the top of my list this guy.

It was late and I didn’t want to worry to much about it so I went to bed.
When I awoke this morning the welt had grown it was now the size of a nickel. “This isn’t good” I told myself. When I looked in the mirror I noticed no stark improvement of my over all muscle tone, and I still needed my glasses. So I took out my trusty staedtler pen and traced the circumference of the bite.
I’ll keep you all informed about the progress of the spider venom. place your bets on who’ll win (jason’s immune system, or the spiders toxicity)

A nickel? Pshhh! At camp two years ago I got a bite the size of a quarter, and it was on my butt! I couldn’t sit right all week.
Good luck to your immune system though.

I place my bet on the spider venom. If all it was made to do was cause irritation then it has already won.

Jason One Spider Zero, well as it turns out it never got bigger than a quarter and i can barely feel it now. ha take that spider venom, me and my immune system still got one up on you.

Here is a weird one and I am desperately looking for advice. My 11 year old daughter was bitten 5 times, (dang thing must have been in her boot) on January 7, 2007. It is now March 16, 2007 and we have been through 6 doctors from the ER to a neurologist. She cannot walk, is using crutches and we cannot touch the bite sight. Super sensative. Neurologist referred to PT which she goes 3 X per week and cries the entire session. What a nightmare.

wow that really sucks, I wish I could you tell something, but my knowledge of spider bites is limited and I’m sure your physician can direct you much better than I.
